Company Overview
Dev-Audio produces software and devices that apply innovative computer speech technologies to enable more natural interaction between people and computers. Our aim is to make computers more natural tools for collaboration and communication, and therefore a focus is on technologies that support groups of users, rather than individuals.
Following several years of development and in-field trials, Microcone Recorder is now available as our first product. Microcone Recorder simplifies the process of recording meetings and provides innovative software to save time in transcription and analysis. The Microcone is an intelligent microphone designed for small group conversations, built upon our intellectual property in the fields of microphone array and speech signal processing.
Founded by Dr Iain McCowan in 2008, Dev-Audio Pty Ltd is a privately held company based on Australia's Gold Coast. Dev-Audio appreciates the support it has received from various government initiatives, including AusIndustry's COMET program and the Queensland Government's Smart Futures Fund. The Ark foundation in Valais Switzerland has also supported collaboration with the IDIAP Research Institute and HES-SO Valais.
Dev-Audio was a winner of the inaugural Telstra Innovation Challenge in 2010 and the Microcone product was awarded an Australian International Design Award in 2011.
